Reggae music makes people happy. That’s undoubtedly why Akron’s Musica is bringing back its Urban Luau yet again, featuring three area reggae bands.
There’s Carlos Jones & the P.L.U.S. Band, the go-to group for every festival and special event.
They’ll be joined by Umojah Nation, led by the husband and wife team of Tracey and Stefano Nguma. She’s from Akron, he was born in Tanzania, lived in Ethiopia, and came to Akron to attend school, providing an interesting cultural mix. The band’s notable for its use of multiple female voices.
Also on the bill is Akron’s Human Nature.
Tickets are $9.99.
