Sunny Miami seems like an unlikely locale to launch a band of turgid stoner rockers like Torche. But there’s something about all that sunshine that seems to inspire extreme music (Florida was also the death metal capital in the late 80/early 90s). Less than a decade old with only three albums to its credit, it’s one of the younger bands in this heritage genre.
It’ll be at the Grog Shop on an all-heavy bill that includes Winnipeg, Canada’s intensely sludgy noisecore band KenMode, Columbus stoner quartet Lo-Pan, and Cleveland’s Classic Sand. Bring earplugs or suffer.
Tickets are $13 in advance, $15 at the door.
