Ex-McCartney Collaborator Denny Laine at Kent Stage

Sat 6/29 @ 8PM

Singer/multi-instrumentalist Denny Laine has been riding for years on a couple of youthful accomplishments.

He was a mere teenager in 1964 when he joined the Moody Blues and became the voice of their first him “Go Now,” when they were still just a pop band. He left the group in 1966, before they delved into symphonic pop and fell off the radar for a couple of years.

He worked on low-profile projects until 1971, when Paul McCartney tapped him to join his newly formed Wings. That kept Laine busy for the next decade. He was part of the ensemble’s core trio, along with Paul and Linda.

Laine released some solo albums in the ’80s, but it’s those two things that bring audiences to sell him and his band the Cryers.

They’ll be at the Kent Stage this week.

Tickets are $20.
