The 4th annual Conservation Rocks, hosted by the Western Reserve Land Conservancy, is a little different from most worthy-cause benefit concerts. All of the musicians participating are in some way involved with conservation organizations and issues.
Pete McDonald, who fronts the Black Oaks, works for the conservancy. Both the Rust Buckets and the Blues Birds feature employees of the Geauga Park District. Fat City includes staff members of the Cleveland Museum of Natural History.
Naturalist Foster Brown is well known for his work at the Cleveland Metroparks where he often performs his nature-related educational songs for children. And Paul Van Curen and Julie Patton are involved with the Let It Be urban community garden.
The evening will end with an all-star jam.
Tickets are $10 in advance, $13 at the door.
