Cleveland Jazz Orchestra Season Closer Features World Music-Influenced Jazz

Sat 6/8 @ 8PM

The Cleveland Jazz Orchestra wraps up its 2012-2013 with a concert that’s sure to be a crowd-pleaser.

It’ll feature jazz that incorporates Afro-Cuban, Latin, Middle Eastern, and other world music influences. It’s the sort of stuff that appeals to audiences well beyond a core of jazz snobs.

Trombonist Jay Ashby, who toured with Paul Simon for a decade and joined the faculty of Oberlin’s conservatory last year, will guest with CJO at this Allen Theatre performance. There’s a pre-show talk at 7:30.

Tickets are $30-$45.
