Lakewood students apparently know a lot about cool shoes. Lakewood High School is one of 50 schools nationwide named finalists in Vans Custom Culture Competition, an art competition that awards $50,000 to the winning school’s arts department. Students were asked to create custom designs for four pairs of blank shoes following themes of art, music, local flavor and action sports.
