George Witherspoon got out of the Army in 1963, and his sister told him about a new Community College that had just opened up. He enrolled at Tri-C, which was located in Brownell, his original high school.
“Everything has been made easy for me since then.”
“It laid the groundwork for me as I went to other colleges.” He went on to Wayne State College in Detroit and he hasn’t looked back. Except to join with his fellow alums at regular get-togethers.
Listen as we talk to George at a Tri-C and Friends Association alumni event at the JazzFest. View the video here.
