In its nine years, Dr. Donald Shingler’s Fashion Week Cleveland has seen a lot of changes. Many of the benefits he’s been predicting have started to come true. And national voices like CNN & Women’s Wear Daily have started to take note, proclaiming Cleveland’s Fashion Week as the third largest after NYC & LA.
Encouraging economic development and a strong fashion retail presence downtown, FWC this year kicks off on Fri 5/3 with Retails’ Night Out with trunk parties, music, cash mobs, happy hour, continues with GlamJam on Sat 5/4 featuring flame throwers, wearable art runway shows, live bands, body painting, food trucks (both at the 5th Street Arcade), and continues the next weekend on Fri 5/10 with a screening of the doc Diana Vreeland; The Eye Has to Travel at CIA Cinematheque, followed by The Artists’ Salon After-party a L’Albatros and concludes on Sat 5/11 with a Designer Runway Show & Black Tie Gala at the Grand Arcade.
