Fri 3/1 @ 8:30PM
Jessica Lea Mayfield tees off the Beachland’s 13th Anniversary three-night celebration tonight. She’s an appropriate choice. Beachland audiences have gotten to know the young Kent-based performer since she performed as a teenager under the name Chittlin.
With her background in her family’s bluegrass band feeding her music’s spare, lonely Americana vibe and her association with the Black Keys (drummer Dan Auerbach produced her 2008 debut With Blasphemy So Heartfelt) giving her hipster indie cred, she brings together two strands of music the Beachland is best known for. Shivering Timbers and Charles Hill Jr. open. Admission is $12.
