Michael DeAloia has served as Tech Czar of the city of Cleveland and a Senior Director at FIT Technologies. Now he’s taken on his latest challenge, serving as Regional Vice President at Expedient.
Founded in Cleveland, Expedient has grown to eight data centers across six cities, from Boston to Indy. Cleveland is still their largest footprint, and DeAloia shows us around their massive data center in NEO Park, just minutes from Downtown Cleveland. Watch the video here.
Expedient offers three main services: Colocation– space, power, cooling and security for your company’s server, storage and networking equipment; Connectivity– a 10 gigabit per second (that fast!) fiber backbone to the Internet; and Managed Services- cloud computing, backups, monitoring, firewall and email. All this in a state-of-the-art facility staffed 24/7/365, so a growing company can focus on their business instead of their computers.
DeAloia shows us around the impressive Cleveland facility, after a rigorous security login, badge swipe and fingerprint scan. He points out the temperature, humidity, security, fire protection and backup systems. We also peek into Expedient’s Operations Support Center (OSC), manned by staff 24/7/365, controlling electricity, data flow, security and all the systems at Expedient. We talk about the two electrical companies that supply power (First Energy & Cleveland Public Power), to ensure a constant flow of power, which is sent to huge battery backups, all connected to four semi-trailer sized generators to keep power running in any circumstance.
