How To Run a Successful Crowdfunding Campaign

Thu 11/29 5:30-7:30PM

Crowdfunding sites such as Kickstarter and Indiegogo have transformed the landscape for entrepreneurs by offering a way to raise money directly from potential fans (customers), thereby either sidestepping or enhancing traditional methods of funding, such as small business loans, venture capital, and friends and family.

In fact, Kickstarter has helped entrepreneurs raise over $300 million in pledges from 3 million people to help fund over 30,000 projects. But it’s not as easy as it sounds.

Now the Cleveland branch of Bad Girl Ventures, founded in Cincinnati by Candace Klein, is offering a session on how to develop a successful crowdfunding campaign.

Register for the session here.

Bad Girl Ventures seeks to support entrepreneurship among women, who own 50% of privately-owned businesses, but only have access to 5% of traditional capital. Their micro-lending approach is combined with an intensive 9-week business development course, held 2-3 times per year.

Save the date for the Bad Girl Ventures Fall 2012 Graduation Ceremony on Wed 12/5 at 5:30pm. Details here.

The 11/29 Crowdfunding event takes place at Shaker LaunchHouse, 3558 Lee Road, Shaker Heights, OH 44120. Register for the event here.
