Bicycles will be zooming around Lakewood when the Lakewood Criterium returns on Sat 7/28. This ain’t no silly race. This is a USA Cycling-sanctioned bike race featuring competitors with USA Cycling racing licenses. If you’ve never raced and want to ride for fun, you can check out the Community Fun Challenge or the Kids Challenge.
FYI: “A ‘criterium’ is a bicycle race in which riders compete for many laps on a short circuit, hitting speeds near 40 mph as they jockey for position and sprint for prizes, glory, and ultimately the win.”
