Fri 10/22 @ 7:30 – 10PM
Put aside all your misconceptions about rap music. Turn off the radio (pretend Lil Wayne doesn’t exist) and tune into the essence of emceeing @ MOCA. The Art of Emceeing is a family-friendly event for all ages and is especially for those who don’t like rap music.
The scoop:
MOCA’s galleries become the stage for acclaimed hip hop emcee, Jahi. This family friendly, socially conscious evening will begin with a dynamic presentation addressing stereotypes, misconceptions, and apprehensions about hip hop and emceeing (sometimes called rapping). To complete the program, rousing beats and lyrics complement the art on view with a concert by Jahi and his band, The Life.
Think about these questions before attending the performance:
1. What was your first introduction to Hip Hop?
2. Do you consider Emceeing an art form or escapist entertainment?
Free.
MOCA – 8501 Carnegie Ave.
