RiverDay 2010

GREEN Sat 5/15 starting @ 6AM

Our river is truly amazing. Pay homage to the mighty Cuyahoga River with a day’s worth of activities on Sat 5/15. Here’s just a sampling of the 20+ events offered, as provided by Friends of the Crooked River:

@ 6 AM – RiverDay Poetry Reading at Whiskey Island Begin RiverDay with poetry-reading and sunrise-watching at the mouth of the Cuyahoga.  Bring nature-related poetry to share, a camera for pictures or just bring yourself.  The poems can be written by you or just bring some favorites written by others.  We may catch the end of spring migration and be treated to some warbler song too! Meet at Pavillion at Wendy Park: West Shoreway (Rt.2) to Edgewater Park Exit, turn right, then follow the signs Call John Kaminski at 440-356-8974 or email riverkeeper@wideopenwest.com for more information. Sponsored by Friends of the Crooked River.

@ 3PM – Self-guided Tour of Wendy Park/Whiskey Island Come join Cleveland Waterfront Coalition ( CWC)  on a self-guided tour of Wendy Park/Whiskey Island. CWC will present info on what’s next for Cleveland’s waterfront. Join us afterwards for refreshments at the Sunset Grill.
