You can say the Orchid Ensemble is a cultural exchange between Western and Asian music. Members mix traditional Chinese music w/ jazz and creative improvisation, playing everything from the erhu (Chinese violin) and zheng (Chinese zither) to the marimba and various world percussion instruments.
