Middle Bass Island Hosts Family-Friendly Arts and Music Festival

Sat 7/13 @ noon-7PM

If you’d like to enjoy some music, food, drinks and a laidback afternoon in the Lake Erie Islands free from crazy party animals, take the Miller Ferry to Middle Bass Island for its annual family-friends Middle Bass Island music Festival at Lonz Winery Park.

This festival features four easy-to-like regional bands, as well as artist demonstrations and hands-on artmaking opportunities (decorate a pumpkin, make a sea glass bracelet or paint a small watercolor!), local vendors, food trucks and adult beverages from Catawba Island Brewing Company and Heineman’s Winery. Three tents, a pavilion, the Island Grind at Lonz Winery and the Prohibition Bar offer plenty of indoor space to keep dry if it rains. Clevelander Colin Dussault’s long-running Blues Project kicks the music off at 2pm, followed by NE Ohio rock, blues & country quartet North Coast Goats; traditional country & western band Tall Paul & the Western Drawl; and Philadelphia original rock band Dry Reef, who describe their music as “playful melodies, bubbling harmonies and bright, refreshing instrumentals. Like the smell of salt in the air as you drive onto your favorite shoreline. Sorry, guys, no salt in the air on Middle Bass. Rock out anyway.

Admission is free.
