Jazz Singer Jane Monheit Performs at Market Garden Brewery

Fri 8/2 @ 7:30PM

In the past 25 years, New York-based jazz/pop vocalist Jane Monheit has bult an impressive career for herself. She studied music as a child, sang in choirs, acted in theater and developed a passion for the Great American Songbook. She was a 20-year-old senior at the noted Manhattan School of Music when she came in second in the vocalist section of the Thelonius Monk Competition.

Since then she’s put out more than a dozen studio albums, including a tribute to Ella Fitzgerald. Her 2022 album Come What May featured such beloved Great American Songbook standards as “Let’s Face the Music and Dance,” “The Nearness of You,” and “My Funny Valentine,” and Billy Strayhorn’s “Lush Life.” She’s worked with such jazz stars as Kenny Baron, Ron Carter, John Pizzarelli, Christian McBride and Terence Blanchard and performed at prestigious jazz venues around the world. This weekend she’ll be performing a Cleveland at the Market Garden Brewery Tasting Room, located behind and to the north of the West Side Market Parking Lot. It serves drinks but no food; if you’re hungry, you can have dinner before the show at the Market Garden Brewery.
