Thirty years ago, local musician Adam Rich started his label Love Muffin to distribute his own music, something that wasn’t done as much then as it is now in these Internet-enabled years. His releases were followed by a series of shows called LoveMuffinPalooza which he launched in 2008, and which brought a diverse groups of area musicians together to raise money for charity.

Now Love Muffin is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a concert at the Beachland Ballroom featuring some of the musicians who’ve participated in the past, as well as some newcomers. Rich had hoped to do a 25th anniversary concert in 2019 but it just didn’t come together quickly enough, and then the virus hit.

They roster of performers includes Rich’s own band, Flowers Love Being Kurt, formed in 2021; veteran of many LoveMuffinPaloozas Mallory San Marco; Shake (pronounced Shaky) Ground, a reggae group that features almost all the former members of Cleveland’s wildly popular First Light, noted Cleveland industrial band State of Being also celebrating their 30th anniversary; Blue Antidote; singer/songwriter Oz Zeltner’s Spirit of 74, SweetSour featuring singer/guitarist Mike Taffi; Americana band Saints and surf rockers Eerie Invaders.
