Fri 12/1 @ 8PM
The Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra features some of the most accomplished young musicians in the region. Many former members play in symphonies across the country or have busy careers as recitalists or chamber musician.
One of the benefits of membership in the group (in addition to coaching by members of the Cleveland Orchestra) is the chance to play in the professional setting of Severance Hall and get a feel for what it’s like to be in the “real” orchestra.
The COYO’s autumn concert this weekend, under the baton of its new director Vinay Parameswaran, will include Ludwig van Beethoven’s Lenore Overture No. 3, Samuel Barber’s Symphony No. 1 and Sergei Prokofiev’s selections from Romeo and Juliet.
Prior to the concert at 7pm, members of the COYO will perform chamber music selections in the Reinberger Chamber Hall at Severance Hall.
Tickets are $15-$25.
