Fri 10/14 @ 6:30-8:30PM
The Morgan Art of Papermaking Conservatory in AsiaTown opens a pair of new shows for the fall season, once again displaying the vast range of potential in paper as a material.
Florida State University associate professor of printmaking Denise Bookwalter’s Matiere — referring to a material’s tactile surface quality — explores both traditional and digital processes, old and new print technologies and incorporates non-traditional media.
Toronto-based Susan Warner Keene uses handmade paper to look at how it can interpret experience and the impact of experience on an individual narrative, looking at how it can assume elements of human-related physicality that relate to body perception.
The shows opens with a reception on Fri 10/14 @ 6:30-8:30pm and remain on view through Sat 12/10. The gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday @ 10am-4pm. It’s free.
