Clannad’s Moya Brennan Brings Irish Christmas to @ConservancyCVNP

Fri 12/13 @ 8PM

Moya Brennan’s career as one of the leading lights of Irish music stretches back over 40 years.

From a musical family, her career began with Clannad, the group she formed in the early ’70s with two of her brothers and two of her mother’s brothers. That group’s been widely credited with launching the crossover of Irish traditional music into the mainstream. In the early ’90s, she added a solo career to her accomplishments.

Her Christmas show, which she’ll perform with members of her band at Cuyahoga Valley National Park’s Happy Days Lodge, includes traditional Irish and other Christmas songs, as well as fan favorites from both Clannad and her solo career.

She released the obligatory Christmas album, An Irish Christmas, in 2005. Among other things, it includes a rendering of “Silent Night” in her native Irish tongue. Undoubtedly, concertgoers will get to hear some of that.

Tickets are $22 for adults, $17 for CVNP Conservancy members, and $7.50 for kids 3-12.
