Gordon Square Historic Haunts Walks Are Back

Fri 10/2-Sun 10/4 @ 6:30PM

Near West Theatre, in collaboration with the West Clinton Block Club and Bank of America, is again (for the fifth year) offering the West Clinton Historic Haunts walking tours, featuring chilling tales torn from Cleveland history.

The streets of the Gordon Square Arts District become the stage on which these stories are projected by the historical re-enactors the walkers encounter. They’ll meet people form the past such as William R. Hopkins, Cleveland’s first city manager, in conversation with Mayor Justin Bibb; learn about Big Jim Morton’s famous bank robbery; meet observers of the 1986 Balloon Fest-gone-wrong (some walkers may actually have been there themselves!); and learn about tragic events from Cleveland’s past such as the 1944 Gas Explosion that leveled much of the St. Clair/Superior neighborhood.

Tours are about an hour. The event has typically sold out so advance ticket purchases are suggested. Go here to get them.
