Sun 9/5 @ 7:30PM
Nashville-based Miss Tess and her band the Talkbacks play the sort of alternative country that sucks up influences from a variety of genres and makes them their own: a little Willie Nelson and Hank Williams, mixed with some high-energy classic rock & roll, a little swing, some R&B, a wink of honky tonk, a dab of blues, a dollop of rockabilly, and a hint of jazz. Miss Tess’s supple vocals are relaxed and effortless, giving the retro-flavored tunes a comfortable acessibility. She sounds like she’s having a good time without forcing it.
Miss Tess & the Talkbacks are returning to Riverdog Retreat to play in the socially distanced meadow this weekend. All seats are $22, which includes tables and chairs and much be pre-paid in advance. As usual, you can bring your own picnic baskets and coolers, including alcohol.
