Emmy-winning CNN journalist Jake Tapper served as a White House correspondent during the Obama administration. He is also an author who has written several thriller/mystery novels and nonfiction books. His first book in the latter category, 2001’s Down and Dirty: The Plot to Steal the Presidency, focused on the 2000 presidential election which subsequent research showed had indeed been stolen from Al Gore. He’s since written more with his latest, the newly published Race Against Terror, looking at the complex worldwide infrastructure of how terrorists are created and the response to their actions in the often misguided “War on Terror.”
That’s apparently that book he’ll be talking about when he comes to the Parma-Snow Library this week for a conversation with ideastream’s Mike McIntyre, where each ticket buyer gets a copy of Race Against Terror, along with their seat at the event. Unmentioned in the press release is a far more controversial book he published earlier this year called Original Sin: President Biden’s Decline, Its Cover-Up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again. Many felt this hit job damaged Tapper’s credibility, due to his failure to give equal attention to the many incendiary, incoherent and transparently false statements Trump made in that debate (which Tapper co-moderated), and that he owes us a follow-up book giving equal coverage to the more obvious cognitive decline of the man sitting in the White House.
Get tickets here and ask him when THAT book is coming out.
