COOLNEWS: Ken Schneck Publishes “LGBTQ Columbus,” Named Editor of Statewide LGBTQ Magazine

Last year, Baldwin Wallace professor/comedian/radio show host/emcee/author Ken Schneck published LGBTQ Cleveland, a photo-heavy book that covered nearly 50 years of LGBTQ history in northeast Ohio. That includes the peripatetic 40-plus year history of Cleveland’s LGBT Center, which moved into a spectacular new dedicated building in Gordon Square a few weeks ago.

Now Schneck has published a similar volume about Ohio’s capitol city: LGBTQ Columbus, covering the city’s bar raids, its iconic parties, its Pride parades and the characters and personalities who populated the scene over the years. The book features more than 150 images and was co-written with Columbus’ Shane McClelland.

In addition, Schneck was just named editor of LGBTQ publication Prizm, which was launched in October 2017 by Equitas Health (which serves the LGBTQ community) after Outlook Ohio ceased publication. The glossy full-color bimonthly free magazine is available statewide.
