British pianist Stephen Hough will join the Cleveland Orchestra at Blossom Music Center for a concert that includes Felix Mendelssohn’s 1831 Piano Concerto No. 1.
The orchestra will also perform Jan Sibelius’ 1902 Symphony No. 2 and Samuel Barber’s Essay No. 2, which debuted in 1942. Leading the orchestra is a familiar face, James Gaffigan, known to local audiences from his stint as assistant conductor of the Cleveland Orchestra from 2003-2006 and also led CityMusic Cleveland from 2005-2010.
