Cleveland Public Theatre Holds Meeting for Artists Interested in Being Part of Station Hope 2017

Sat 1/7 @ 1PM

In 2014, Cleveland Public Theatre organized the first Station Hope event. The free one-day event drew on a range of arts including visual arts, music, dance, theater, storytelling and literature to focus on fights for freedom and justice, with an emphasis on the Underground Railroad. It took place at and around the historic St. John’s Church in Ohio City, which was a station for the slaves fleeing to Canada via the Railroad.

The fourth annual Station Hope takes place Sat 4/29, and planning is starting now. CPT is looking for artists, performance groups, choirs and organizations to propose 10-15 minute original pieces for the event — for example, site-specific plays, character actors who mingle with the crowd, installations or church choir performances.

Anyone interested in learning more about what types of things they’re looking for and how to submit a project for consideration can attend an informational meeting at Cleveland Public Theatre this Saturday. If you’d like to attend, please RSVP to Andy Weyenberg at atweyenberg@cptonline.org by Thu 1/5.
