Numbers Band Makes Their Annual Appearance at Akron Art Museum’s Downtown @ Dusk

Thu 7/25 @ 6:30-8PM

Kent’s Numbers Band, which debuted in the summer of 1970, has plugged on without a break ever since, is one of northeast Ohio’s musical treasures. Fronted by intense, charismatic singer/songwriter/guitarist Robert Kidney, the band has forged its own distinctive sound out of rock and roll, blues and jazz. While clearly there’ve been many personnel changes in a band with such a long history, Bob’s multi-instrumentalist brother jack Kidney and sax/keyboards player Terry Hynde have been along for a significant chunk of the ride. The current band also features two more local music scene veterans: bassist Bill Watson and drummer Clint Alguire.

The band is also a fixture on the Akron Art Museum’s long-running (four decades!) Downtown @ Dusk concert series, which they’ve played almost every summer. Look for them there this week when the play in the museum’s Bud and Susie Rogers Garden.

It’s free and open at all.
