Learn to Compost at Home with CVNP’s Easy Instructions

Did you hear that Vermont just passed a law banning food scraps from being thrown in garbage, requiring they be composted?

OK, Ohio isn’t hippie-dippie Vermont, home of Phish and Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream, which has named flavors not only after that band (“Phish Food”) but also the Grateful Dead’s Jerry Garcia (“Cherry Garcia”). Cuyahoga Valley National Park’s website shares some easy tips for getting started, no matter how much space you have. You just need a large container with a lid, leaves, dirt, food scraps and water. Follow their simple instructions and you’ll have compost to use next spring to make healthier soil in your garden.
