Fri 1/3 @ 6-10PM
The Cleveland Museum of Art provides a stimulating start to the year with its monthly adult night at the museum, MIX.
Its theme this month is “Fortune,” which for some reason focuses on the Chinese New Year — January 25. It will feature fireworks projections, a dragon dance, Asian-themed cocktails and red décor, believed to bring good luck. Works from the museum’s world-renowned Asian collection, built to that status by its long-time CMA director Sherman Lee (1958-1983), will be featured, along with the current exhibit, Invisible Cities, by Beijing-based artist Liu Wei.
DJ jnodoetho1 will be spinning music for dancing; food is available for purchase in Provenance Café until 8:30pm.
Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door. CMA members are free.
