Local Jazz Trio Release New Album at BOP STOP

Sun 5/15 @ 7-9PM

The Alba Trio is a relatively new Cleveland jazz ensemble featuring some familiar players.

It was formed in 2019 by drummer/percussionist/composer Anthony Taddeo, who studied with noted global music percussionist Jamey Haddad before moving to New York to study. He’s played with artists such as Hey Mavis and Helen Welch, performed on more than 30 albums and teaches at Tri-C.

For this project he enlisted Akron trumpet player Tommy Lehman who’s played with artists such as the Admirables, Theron Brown and Dan Wilson, and his band Acid Cats and bassist Tim Lekan, who’s toured as an electric bassist with R&B ensembles before moving to acoustic bass to play jazz.

Steeped in such influences as Miles Davis, Dave Douglas and Avishai Cohen, the group is celebrating the release of its new record at the BOP STOP. Attend in person for $15 or listen online for free at the BOP STOP’s Facebook page; donations can be made here.
