It’s the middle of summer so there’s not a lot new going on at 78th Street Studios this Third Friday. (HEDGE Gallery however is opening a new show of work by Nikki Woods. Read more here.)
But that’s a great opportunity to stop in to visit some of the artists you haven’t met yet and stop in their studios to chat, as well as to meet the new artisan/entrepreneurs who have studio/shops in the basement space that was renovated and opened last year. Take a leisurely browse through galleries ranging from the pop-oriented E11even2 and the high-end fine art gallery Kenneth Paul Lesko, currently showing Wild Muses, dramatic nature-based work by two of their regular stable of artists, Judith Brandon and John Nativio. You’ll want to drop in on the expanded Variegate in Susie Frazier’s former shop to check out all the cute items Lindsey has designed. And it’s the final month to check out The Cleveland Salon 1920-1924 at ARTneo, the resident museum that specializes in collecting and displaying work by Northeast Ohio artists.
Northcoast Productions will as usual be filling the event spaces with makers and vendors, there’s food from Local West and drinks courtesy of BARneo. There’ll also be performers around the building, including Irish duo the Bogtrotter Two, the bluegrass-based Small Craft Advisory, versatile guitarist John Lucic, and illusionist Sergio Magic.
It’s free and open to all, including your (leashed, well-behaved) dog.
