Hale Farm and Village in Bath Township is part of the Western Reserve Historical Society that makes Ohio history more than just an exhibit: it re-enacts it. It’s a “living history museum,” a re-creation of a 19th-century Ohio village, with a cluster of historical buildings where interpreters provide narrative about what villagers in the 1800s would’ve been doing, and offer demonstrations of crafts such as blacksmithing, weaving, candle-making and glass blowing, to give visitors a taste of what Ohio life was like for settlers 200 years ago.
Over the course of the season, Hale Farm is also the site of special events such as plant sales, wine tastings, music and crafts festivals and civil war reenactments. It opens officially for the season on Saturday June 1, and is open Wednesday through Sunday 10am-4pm through Labor Day weekend, with weekend hours in September and October and special events through the holidays.
