Sat 5/10 @ 10AM-4PM

The downtown branch of the Cleveland Public Library is throwing a “Curious Garden Party,” in celebration of its 100th birthday, giving library supporters a bunch of reasons to visit today.

From 10am-4pm there’ll be Alice in Wonderland-inspired activities, entertainment, giveaways and food, with a garden Party featuring cake, line dancing, balloon twisting and face painting from noon-2pm. At 11:45am the library will unveil an Ohio Historical Marker in front of its Main Building recognizing the role the library has played in the area’s education and culture. TechCentral will be open in the Main Building for exploring your own creativity and gifts for invention. Everywhere you go there will be hands-on creative activities to engage the imagination. There’ll even be a screening of the 1933 movie Alice in Wonderland.

In addition, the library will be celebrating the grand opening of its new Library Shop in the lower level of the Louis Stokes wing, which will feature not only library merch and books but also spotlight area entrepreneurs, with proceeds supporting library programs.

The Curious Garden Party is free and open to all. Find out more, including a full schedule of activities, here.
