With the Cleveland Flea, now in its third year, such a smash hit in the Superior-St. Clair/AsiaTown area, the neighborhood has decided to try something new along those lines. Night Market Cleveland has been in the works for a year and now it makes its debut.
Taking place on the last Friday of each month through September in AsiaTown at the corner of Rockwell and E. 21st — the original location of Cleveland’s “Chinatown” when it consisted of little more than a block and a couple of restaurant — the market is modeled on traditional Asian evening markets. They’re designed for leisurely strolling and hanging out, with roving food carts featuring ethnic food, vendors, local artists and craftsmen and music and other entertainment popping up all over the place. The evening hours give it a whole different slant, more of a night out on the town than a shopping experience.
It’s free but bring money for all the great food and fun things you’ll want to buy.
