PHOTOSTREAM: Cassette Day on Waterloo

Sat 9/27

The two record stores on Waterloo Road, Music Saves and Blue Arrow, celebrated an obsolete music format on National Cassette Store Day. Each stocked up on cassettes, although customers seemed to be more interested in CDs and vinyl. Mike Crooker of electronic pop band Frigid Touch was at Music Saves where he had a stock of a four-song cassette of local bands he’d made up, and he brought vegan mini-cupcakes as well.

Over at Blue Arrow, an impressive display of cassettes dominated the front window, members of Shale Satans played a short acoustic set and Rhonda the cat greeted customers as usual.
