Friends Play Benefit for CLE Artist/Musician Chris Warmock, Injured in Bike Accident

Sun 12/18 @ 2PM

Chris Yarmock was prominent in the early Cleveland punk scene, first fronting the Kneecappers in the early 80s and later the Easter Monkeys, with the late Jim Jones, who played with Home and Garden and Pere Ubu. He played with St. Jayne in the 90s; by then he was a genuinely legendary in the Cleveland underground. Yarmock is also known as a prolific writer and painter whose work has been widely exhibited at alternative venues around town such as Tremont’s Doubting Thomas gallery.

Sadly, he’s now become known as another victim of the area’s unsafe, car-centric streets: he was recently hit by a car while riding his bicycle, leaving his leg seriously injured.

So he’s got medical costs and his friends are rallying around him, presenting a benefit at the Beachland Tavern. The Beachland and the bands are all donating their time and services. Performers include Metrolight, California Speedbag (which once featured the late Gary Lupico, also of the Kneecappers), Home and Garden, and David Loy and the Ramrods, along with Val Seeley who played with Cleveland punk rockers Lurid, and a reading by author Mike DeCapite.
