Is your kid obsessed with comics — not just reading them, but creating them? Even if they’ve just dabbled in combining words and images, they’re likely to be creatively inspired at Lake Erie Ink’s 11th annual two-day Comic Con.
It features two days of workshops, speakers, an artist alley and more for kids ages 8-18. And no, an 18-year-old doesn’t have to hang with 8-year-olds; there are sessions and events for various age groups. For instance, on Friday night, there’s a teen cosplay and trivia party for ages 12 and up at the B-Side Lounge, across the street from the Coventry PEACE campus where Lake Erie Ink in located.
Then all day Saturday aspiring comic artists will have the chance to attend an array of sessions and workshops (both in-person and virtual) and get to interact with professional artist and writers who can guide them in effectively developing their unique skills. Virtual workshops are free; in-person is only $15 for the whole day, an inexpensive days’ worth of productive entertainment.
Registration is required. Go here. Find a full schedule of evens, workshops and presenters here.
