The Cleveland Cello Society’s 23rd annual benefit I Cellisti! 2021 should have widespread appeal, featuring the works of one of classical music’s most popular and played composers: Ludwig van Beethoven.
Over two evenings they’ll livestream (from the BOP STOP) some of the area’s best cellist and pianists playing the composer’s complete works for piano and cello.
Night two — Tuesday February 23 — features faculty from the Cleveland Institute of Music (Sharon Robinson, Anita Pontremoli, Evan Solomon) and Oberlin Conservatory (Dmitry Kouzov), cellist Dane Johansen of the Cleveland Orchestra, and pianist Yulia Fedoseeva, playing his Sonata in G Minor, Op. 5, no. 2; his Sonata in A Major, Op. 69; and his Sonata in D Major, Op. 102, No. 2.
It’s free to listen but of course they hope you’ll be so swept away by the music that you’ll be inspired to donate, which you can do here.
