Chicago based Jordan Reyes performs as Reverent, an all-vocal industrial project, in addition to playing with gospel noise band ONO and performing synth-based experimental music under his own name.
Reverent is the project he’s bringing to Cleveland’s west side culture hive Guide to Kulchur. His bio describes it as “a project based on Reyes’ life experience as a person raised in a highly religious household, and how that has instilled an unshakeable guilt into him. There are also overt references to his addictive behavior, previously manifested in chemical dependency. Though sober now, Reyes is in constant communication with his more obsessive propensities. Reverent is a vehicle to unpack himself.”
Following his performance, Cleveland soul/jazz quartet Mourning [A]BLKstar, featuring Guide to Kulchur founder and all-around art maven RA Washington, will perform.
