Shopping for holiday gifts locally helps small businesses and it can also help small arts and social services organizations who typically host holiday markets this time of year.
That’s what the Center for Applied Theatre and Active Culture (CATAC) and New World Performance Lab (NWPL) are doing with their holiday gift sale this weekend taking place at the Balch Street Theatre in Akron. The sale will feature “gently used” books, CDs and DVDs at low prices, so you might find that old movie or recording someone you know has been hunting for for years. And all money raised goes to benefit the two organizations.
Entry tickets are $5 and are sold for specific times in order to control crowd size. Only 20 shoppers per hour are allowed in and masks are required. Go here to reserve your slot.
