Women’s reproductive health clinic Preterm has been reaching out and making its work better known through a series on monthly community outreach programs that often deal with issues of interest to the community but only peripherally concerned with women’s health.

This month is one of those. The guest speaker is Gabriella Celeste, policy director at the Schubert Center for Child Studies at Case Western Reserve University. She’s done extensive research in how the juvenile justice system impacts young people who end up in it and how juvenile offenders can best be treated to set them on a productive life course.

She’ll talk about the school-to-prison pipeline that disproportionately impacts youth of color and in poverty, treating them differently than affluent white youth who commits the same offenses. She’ll be sharing what changes can be made for a better outcome for everyone.

The program is free and open to all; no RSVP is necessary.
