Cleveland native Steve Hauschildt, formerly of the acclaimed act Emerald, is currently on tour promoting his new album Strands. Inspired by the movement of rivers, in particular the Cuyahoga River, Hauschildt states that Strands is “about cosmogony and creation/destruction myths. The title alludes to the structural constitution of ropes…” He approaches the compositions “so that they consisted of strands and fibers which form a unified whole.”
Hauschildt is touring with Brooklyn-based Forma. Forma’s synths may be best described as hypnotic with their “swirling arpeggios, ambient soundscapes, and driving motorik beats with free-flowing experiments on piano, flute and percussion.” Local act A Man for all Seasons will be supporting him at Akron’s Hive Mind.
