The Cleveland Uncommon Sound Project aka CUSP just finished presenting Re:Sound 2023, four days of experimental music performances, featuring musicians and sound installation artists from around the world and right here in Cleveland.
The nonprofit organization is looking to expand its presentation of experimental, innovative and improvisation-based performances and has put out a call for artists for its upcoming season. It’s putting out a call for local artists, both solo and group, working in areas such as improvisation, original and new composed works, multimedia, electronic media, chamber music, performance art, works for original and new instruments, and interdisciplinary collaborations such as with dance, spoken word, video or theater. Set lengths should preferably be 20-30 minutes.
“Strong preference will be given to original works and works created since 2000, including improvised music,” they say. “We strive to feature artists of diverse backgrounds and styles. Proposals will be accepted on a rolling basis. We will draw from the pool of artist proposals to help fill out and broaden our community of performing musicians during our 2023-2024 season.”
