Some day travelling food shows will come to Cleveland and not focus on the vestiges of the city’s old Eastern European culinary customs. Hey guys — we actually have vegans here now!
But until that time, shows like Delicious Destinations will slobber over out keilbasa and pierogies, and of course, the fish fries which were once de rigueur on Fridays or you’d be committing a sin, according to the Catholic Church back before it got a Pope more concerned with the environment and the poor.
So when Delicious Destinations host Andre Zimmern stopped in at Tremont’s Prosperity Social Club last June, of course he had to chow down on the club’s weekly Friday Fish Fry, while interviewing the staff and patrons. The Cleveland episode will premiere on Tue 11/29 @ 9pm so Prosperity is having a watch party.
Even though it’s not Friday, they’ll be offering a special on the fish fry dinner, with battered cod, sweet potato fries and coleslaw, discounted from $14 to $11 from 4pm-midnight. Come in, chow down and listen to the kitchen staff complain that the film crew didn’t make them all look like Brad Pitt.
