Pianist Theron Brown Talks About His Arts Advocacy at Greyt Big Breakfast Talk

Fri 1/21 @ 8:30PM

Thomas Fox spun his Greyt Big Talk series off his long-time hosting of Cleveland’s chapter of the international Creative Mornings events, preferring to go it alone so he could develop the breakfast talks in new directions.

The basic format is similar: each month, a creative/entrepreneurial person gives a talk about what they do, with each talk, taking place at a different location around town. It also features presentations from local designers and filmmakers, as well as short pitches for projects/events in the community. Attendees get coffee and a light breakfast.

This month’s guest — postponed from December — is Akron-based jazz/classical pianist Theron Brown who’s been seen on countless stages playing with a host of different musicians, in the area. Not only that, but he’s the founder/artistic director of the Akron Blues and Jazz Festival, artistic coordinator of the downtown Akron Curated Storefront Project; and artist director at LeBron James’ I Promise School. He released his debut album No Concepts in 2019 and is currently working on his second.

The event, which takes place at Forest City Brewery, is free. Learn more here.
