Walkabout Tremont Celebrates “American Classics” with a Variety of Activities

Fri 7/12 @ 5-10PM

The monthly Walkabout Tremont event is celebrating Independence Day this month, with the theme “American Classics.” The area’s multitude of bars and eateries will be offering food and drink specials with American themes, although the 40 pop-up vendors, music and other entertainment packing Professor Avenue will be typically eclectic: the Cleveland Kiltie Band, singer/songwriters Bethany Joy and David Bay, and the Tribe Ostara Tribal Belly Dance troupe. Animal lovers, take note — Our Little World Alpacas will be back with their soft pettable creatures and City Dogs will have their tail-wagging, eager-to-please adoptable pitbull mixes on the street.

Be sure to stop in Kaiser Gallery at the corner of Professor and Jefferson for the opening of a new group show called Descendants, put together by guest curator Connie Pieper. In it fifteen artists explore their own roots with work that uses their own family and personal narratives and cultural backgrounds as raw material. The free public reception runs from 6-9pm.
