NIIGHTS Frontwoman Jenna Fournier aka Kid Tigrrr Releases New Tracks

Jenna Fournier has been the front woman/guitarist/vocalist for heavy hypnotic rockers NIIGHTS for a decade, while performing as a solo artist, first under her own name and now as indie pop act Kid Tigrrr.

In 2017 she released The Little Dreamer EP on Japanese indie label 2670 Records, in conjunction with some dates she performed there. Until now, that record hasn’t been released in the U.S. due to contractual issues with her U.S. label. But she’s now released it digitally here on Bandcamp, where you can hear two tunes “Dreams in a Day” and “Sailor.” Two other songs, “So Into You” and “Keyhole,” were re-recorded with NIIGHTS and appeared on their 2019 album Hellebore. The songs were recorded and produced by Jim Wirt at Superior Sound Studios here in Cleveland.

It’s a dramatic change from NIIGHTS, which features sheets of sound driving Fournier’s wailing vocals. On these tracks, the transparent arrangements swirl lightly around her delicate vocals, giving them a sense of intimacy and warmth that would be trampled in NIIGHTS. And they reveal her comfortable versatility as an artist.

“I am a fully independent artist again, and have two albums of solo material written that I plan to use this time of isolation to home-record and self produce,” she says. These tracks should whet music fans’ appetite and tide them over in the meantime.
