Local Filmmakers Show Their Work at “Experimental Film Festival”

Come on down to the Happy Dog this Saturday evening for something different, calling itself “Cleveland’s first experimental film festival.” Doors open at 5pm, with the screening starting at 6:30pm downstairs in the Underdog.

The centerpiece is the world premiere of Monsieur Phot, a film by noted local art filmmaker Bruce Checefsky, with a cast packed with local artists and local other celebrities including Michael Loderstedt, Lori Kella, Jeffery Chiplis, Cynthia Chiplis, Liz Maugans, Michael Gill, Sean Watterson, Catherine Butler, Bruce Edwards, Laila Voss, Tom Balbo, Ethan Loderstedt, John Riddlebaugh, and special guest John Ewing, former director of the Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque, and cinematography by prominent Cleveland experimental filmmaker Robert Banks.

In addition, the program includes short films by Checefsky, Banks, Daniel Levin, Cynthia Penter and Rian Brown-Orso. Admission is free.
