CPT Test Flight Week 2 Offers Experimental Dance Performance & Solo Autobiographical Show

Thu 2/5-Sat 2/7 @ 7PM

Cleveland Public Theatre’s multi-week play development program presents performance works in the process of moving to full, finished productions. CPT provides the space, some support staff and some promotion and lets the chosen artists do their thing.

For its second week, it presents another pair of plays. Marie McCausland wrote and performs her one-woman show Perigon: A Birth Story, an autobiographic journey of self-discovered and growth throughout her own life. Sara Poeta directed the show.

Boxed, devised and choreographed by Elizabeth Pollert and directed by Julia Dillard, is described as a “dance theater work.” It uses piles of boxes as a symbol of the labels and identities that attach to us and how they can be reconceived and changed. “The box-heads are busy—boxing, sorting, categorizing,” they tell us. “Keeping things in right-angled order. But the squareness doesn’t suit everyone, for long…what’s in a box must come out.” The cast of dancers includes Melissa Ajayi, Morgan Ashley, Kathryn Yandrick, Christina McSheffrey and Larry White.

All tickets are “pay what you want.” Reserve them here.
